Project Details
A gas replacement project in the middle of Springfield Borough required a roadway shutdown along Saxer Ave. AEI excavated rock to install the launch and exit pits. Working on a narrow roadway, between multiple utilities, the crew used a pneumatic hammer to bore under Septa Rails, installing 180 LF of 12″ diameter steel casing. An 8″ steel gas line was then installed through the 12″ casing. After the cathodic protection measures were installed, the crew backfilled the excavations and restored the area to its original conditions.
